Character Interview with Arch – Leader of the Endurers by Rose Wynters
Hi, this is Rose Wynters. I’ve decided to interview Arch – Leader of the Endurers today. Arch makes me a little nervous because he’s just so powerful. When he gives you just one glance with his blazing blue eyes, you feel unsettled. Almost as if someone has sucked your entire past, present, and future from your body with just one look. Nobody quite knows how far-reaching his powers really are, or even how old he truly is. You just hope and pray he never finds a bone to pick with you.
I hear my office door opening. He’s here. *Fanning myself with my hand in a desperate attempt to calm myself down.
Arch walks into the interview room as I stand up to greet him. I gasp. He’s actually dressed in jeans that hug his tight, splendid rear, and a long-sleeved button down shirt in a blue that matches his eyes. He looks elegant, sexy, and powerful.
Me: Swallowing hard at his appearance. I’m not sure if I’m swallowing because of the air of danger about him, or just how sexy he looks. I make a spur of the moment decision to make this interview a short one. “Hi, Arch. Thanks for joining me today for an interview. If you’ll take a seat over here, we’ll get started!”
Arch: He nods and focuses on me for a long moment, before moving over to the chair. Somehow I know he has just read my intentions, and I give him a nervous smile. He’s so strong and powerfully built that his body seems to overwhelm the seat. With a return smile that doesn’t reach his eyes, he says deeply, “Thank you for having me.”
Me: Clearing my throat. “So Arch, in the series you are definitely the go-to guy. How does that make you feel?”
Arch: “Useful, but there is also a lot of pressure. Sometimes it’s very hard to please everyone, and sometimes you have to make decisions that hurt. In the end though, everything usually works out.”
Me: “Have you undergone any dramatic physical transformations in your life?”
Arch: For just a moment, his expression is unguarded. His eyes look like he’s somewhere very far away, possibly in another time and place. It’s gone quickly. “Several times, more than I would have ever wanted. It’s a funny thing about someone that has to have a dramatic transformation….. It’s usually due to a very, very unpleasant circumstance. One so bad, you have to completely change who you are to attempt to escape it.” He grows silent, not quite looking at me.
Me: Realizing he’s done. “Could you tell us more?”
Arch: Shaking his head. “Believe me, you wouldn’t want to know.”
Me: I’m completely bewildered, but I move on. “What secret would you feel the most vulnerable sharing with anyone?”
Arch: He gives me a chiding look, and I nearly feel ridiculous for asking the question. Finally he answers, slightly exasperated. “If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore.”
Me: “Okay.” I sit there, mentally sorting through the questions I intended on asking him. “What would you never do, no matter the price?“
Arch: He looks me straight in the eyes, completely serious. “I would never sacrifice a human to Hell, no matter the circumstances. Ever.”
Me: Shaking my head in agreement. “That’s very noble of you.”
Arch: His expression is unreadable. “Try saying that when you’re held within the depths of Hell, with a constant rotation of demons torturing you. There’s nothing noble in that. It’s just a matter of not wanting someone else to ever experience that unbearable horror and agony.”
Me: Aghast. “You’ve been in Hell?”
Arch: He nods curtly, the overhead light making his black hair gleam. “Not to cut this short, but I’m due somewhere else in five minutes and ten seconds. It’s a matter of life and death.”
Me: “Wow. Okay, just one last one. Why should the reader care about your story?”
Arch: He gives me a droll look. “It’s never been about me, has it? Ask me that question when you decide to rectify that matter.”
Me: Flustered. “Sorry.”
Arch: Looking appeased as he stands up. “I will say this. The Endurers is about the lives of men that had their mortal lives destroyed by Hell. The real story is what they decide to do with their immortal lives. When you see the worst Hell has to offer on a daily basis, you start to lose hope. These books are the stories of strong men, both physically and mentally, that find a reason to have hope again.”
Me: Beaming at him. “I couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks for joining me today! Good luck with saving the life and all.”
Arch: He gives me a smile, full of self-confidence. “Believe me, it doesn’t have anything to do with luck.” With a wink, he disappears.
See more of Arch in my paranormal romance series, The Endurers. These books wouldn’t be complete without him. Arch is almost like a fairy godfather that any of us would be lucky to have. You can read more about the characters on my website at http://www.rosewynters.com
The EndurersSeries: Book 1
Blurb: When demons from her past come back to collect on a debt, the lusty but virginal Anna goes on the run with a sexy Endurer that is determined to put her past to rest and her full-figured body in his bed.
Two taller, grotesque creatures started towards them, their red eyes gleaming unnaturally in the twilight of the evening.
Shayne was ready for them, an ornately carved dagger in each hand. “You girls looking to play?” he asked, his velvety, deep voice cutting through the night. “I know I am. Look, I’m even wearing my play clothes.” He was dressed completely in black.
The two glanced at each other before charging him as one. Shayne met them in a running leap just seconds before the two screamed in pain. The daggers moved quickly and immediately one of the demons fell, smoke rising from its body.
He glanced over to the last one standing and shook his head in disgust. His knife had carved deeply into the side of his face, leaving the flesh gaping open. Copious amounts of black fluid poured out, and he was missing an ear.
“Damn,” he said as his lip curled up in a sneer. “You guys just get uglier and uglier, don’t you? It looks like your face caught on fire and someone tried to put it out with a fork.”
He could see three more hellions spread out in the parking lot, but they paused at his words. They knew he was an Endurer, with the full backing of Heaven behind him. The evil inside of them naturally recoiled from the purity contained within his daggers and sword. It didn’t stop the demon in front of him though.
“What a great idea,” he growled at Shayne. “I’ll have fun trying it out on you in Hell.”
Shayne beckoned with his hand as he said mockingly, “You, I’m going to kill just to put you out of your misery.”
All pretense at humanity faded. The white skin darkened to a disgusting shade of dark green, and thick horns erupted from its skull. This was the true form of the minion, and it wasn’t pretty.

About the Author: I’ve always had a love of the paranormal and romance, and I’m a true romantic at heart. I love taking romance to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The hotter the better! You’re going to see some pretty wild and crazy stuff in my books, so be prepared!
When not writing, I enjoy traveling and exploring the mysteries of the world. I also like to camp, swim, and even fish. I’m a firm believer that life is meant to be lived, not passing you by!
I have several books that will be released this year. I’m currently working on Book Two for The Endurers series. Look for it towards the end of May. I will also be releasing a werewolf romance series, and a book contains four short stories regarding a fairy trapped in our world. It’s going to get very exciting.
