Take it away Maeve…

Hi there! I’m Maeve Greyson and I’m so happy to visit with you today. My new release, MY HIGHLAND LOVER, the first book in my Highland Hearts series, is Trulie Sinclair’s story. She’s the eldest of four time-traveling sisters and Granny, feisty matriarch and self-ordained plotter of anything to do with her granddaughters’ futures, has a specific plan for Trulie and that plan lies with Gray MacKenna in thirteenth century Scotland.

Scotland. *happy sigh* I adore Scotland and was so fortunate to spend an entirely too short ten days there a few years ago. The architecture in Glasgow and Edinburgh is beautiful. The Cairngorms, a mountain range in the eastern Highlands, is breathtaking with their smoky blues and greens, and their ravine-covered bases sometimes blanketed in swirling mists as though the spirits of those long dead couldn’t bear to leave their beloved land. I understood completely. While breathing in the grandeur of the land, I felt as though I’d come home. The land embraced me, strengthened me. I belonged.

Scotland has the sweetest spring water, the richest oatmeal and the nastiest haggis. (Sorry, Scotland. Hubby loved it. Me—not so much.) The people are friendly and very patient with the silly Americans and all their questions. I’m sure they thought we were totally deaf because we asked for words to be repeated…a lot. Sometimes, it was because I didn’t quite understand what they said but I have to admit, sometimes, it was just because the way they rumbled out their “r’s” was music to my soul.

Castle ruins vibrate with the energy of the past. Castle steps are steep and I highly recommend NOT taking pictures while walking down them. I stumbled and fell—twice. Yes. I am a slow learner but even though I broke my foot, I still enjoyed gimping through those ruins with my tennis shoe unlaced due to the swelling. I didn’t care about that annoying, little hindrance. Nothing was gonna slow me down. It was worth the lecture from both my daughter and my orthopedic surgeon when I got back home and finally got a cast. I wasn’t about to waste any of my time in Scotland by sitting in a doctor’s office!

Someday, I’m going back to Scotland. It’s still calling my name and telling me it’s got more stories to tell. What about you? If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

My Highland Lover
Highland Hearts # 1

By: Maeve Grayson

Releasing March 24th, 2015

Maeve Greyson unleashes a thrilling tale of magic and desire as a feisty Southern gal falls into the arms of a rough-hewn Highland chieftain.

As the proprietor of a homeopathic store in rural Kentucky, Trulie Sinclair knows that her neighbors think she’s strange—but they have no idea how strange she really is. Trulie was born in Scotland in the thirteenth century to a line of time-traveling Highlanders. When Trulie’s grandmother convinces her to return to their homeland, Trulie jumps back in time, right onto the powerful chest of Gray MacKenna. Just as his steely good looks send ripples through her body, their fierce attraction will send ripples through the ages.

After his parents murdered, Gray is consumed by thoughts of revenge. As the new chieftain of the MacKenna clan, he has reason to believe that there’s a traitor in his midst, and nothing—not even the bonny lass who suddenly drops from the sky—can distract him from his single-minded pursuit of the culprit. But when Gray learns that this sassy beauty possesses gifts beyond the sparkle in her eye, he allows his gaze, and his heart, to linger. While he hunts for the murderer, Gray finds in Trulie a precious companion—and a timeless love.

I love a good time-travel story and medieval Scotland is my favorite place. *sigh* I’ve always wanted to visit Scotland and attend an authentic Highland Games. Maybe someday…
