I’m so glad you could join me on the blog today! We have author Rhenna Morgan visiting and she’s agreed to answer a few questions about herself and her writing. I think you’ll enjoy getting to know her as much as I did 🙂
Afterward check out her awesome cover and blurb for WAKING EDEN, and then run (don’t walk) to grab your digital copy. Also, don’t forget to enter her giveaway. The link is toward the end of the post.
Let’s get started …
What 5 words would your friends use to describe you?
LOL…I want to know a little more about that last descriptive word. Tell us the last restaurant you ate out at.
The Brook (Best chicken strips and cheese fries in the world!)
Do you have a writing ritual … as in do you burn a candle, play a certain song, wear a lucky pair of socks?
Sort of. The first thing I do when I sit down to write is surf the web. Once I’ve chilled for about ten minutes, I’ll dig into my manuscript. It’s not much to speak of as rituals go, but it gives my brain a chance to shift from processing all the to-dos into that quiet place I need to write.
I wish I could surf the web for only 10 minutes. I tend to get sucked in and stick around for an hour or so. lol How do you feel about writing love scenes?
Ha! While I love the outcome, they’re hands-down the hardest part of any book. Probably because so much emotion and intensity goes into them. The first time I wrote one, I kept checking over my shoulder to see if anyone was looking. I’m less jumpy these days, but I will tell you that I will never write another one on an airplane again. The lady next to me got a real thrill last time. 🙂
Lucky lady in the seat next to you. Love it! I love naming my characters. Can you share with us how you chose the lead names for your characters in Waking Eden?
Well, Ramsay was chosen very early on since each of the heroes in the series were present from the get-go. I’d never really thought I’d use the name Ramsay, but the night I sat down to name him, it just jumped out at me. And, boom! The playboy was born.
Trinity on the other hand, came as a result of her heritage. I can’t tell you why without spoilers though. 🙂
I love the name Ramsay…great choice! Tell us 3 interesting facts about your hero and then your heroine?
She’s a virgin, but not because she wants to be one. More because she can’t physically touch anyone without seeing every deep dark secret of the person she makes contact with.
She’s the key for our Eden crew to figure out how to deal with a long foretold prophecy.
She might be quiet and untouched, but she’s got serious spunk and a fantastic heart.
Who was your favorite character in Waking Eden to write?
Definitely Ramsay. He’s been a playboy for years and has kept everyone at a distance for so long that watching him fall was super fun. Especially when it’s a woman like Trinity who brings him down.
Care to share what you’re working on now?
Sure! The Eden Series wraps up in October with Eden’s Deliverance, but I’ve just sold a new six-book series to Harlequin’s Carina Press. It’s a super sexy, gritty contemporary romance called the Haven Brotherhood. Book one is called Rough & Tumble and it releases February, 2017. Here’s a little overview of the series:
A brotherhood born from poverty and dangerous beginnings. Six men who’ve not only dragged themselves out of the gutter, but leveraged their street smarts and individual skills to make sure no person or socio-economic class ever holds them down again. Between them, they share two vows. To protect family at all cost, and to pay their good fortune and family ties forward by finding other men like them and building their unique skills. The only rules the brotherhood cares about are those driven by their moral code. And heaven help the poor bastards who get between them and the women they’ve claimed as their own.
RANDOM FUN : Finish This Sentence:
If only I could win the lottery.
The next book on my reading list is Patricia Briggs’s Iron Kissed.
My favorite pizza topping is CHEESE.
There is no way I can leave the house without my phone.
I love to READ!
The last thing I bought was a very lame salad for lunch when what I really wanted was a bleu cheese & bacon hamburger. LOL
only hope of saving their race is to surrender their hearts.
vague prophecy warning of immense change for Eden, Ramsay Shantos is forced to
hunt words and legends instead of rebels. For a man of action, it’s the worst
kind of agony. Until he encounters a sexy librarian who bears the fated
prophecy’s mark. A mark no human should possess.
Blair has enjoyed little human touch in her life, let alone intimacy. Even the
most innocent contact fills her mind with a person’s deepest, darkest
secrets—except for Ramsay. Her immunity to his thoughts sparks a fragile hope
that she might finally experience the passion of her Dark Spiritu

the human realm, Trinity is Ramsay’s only hope for quelling mass panic. Can he
risk revealing the secrets of his race to the guileless ray of sunshine? Or is
she the unknown source of Eden’s destruction?
Ramsay’s voice was quiet behind her, peaceful, and yet a little sad. “My dad brought me here when I was little. The only time I remember ever having him to myself. Eryx and I had fought about something, a worse blow up than normal. Dad thought me having a place to go and gather my thoughts might be in the best interest of the whole castle.”
Trinity paced her breathing and kept her eyes locked on the majestic sun as it tipped into the teal water. She could see this sight tomorrow, or the day after, but the story bubbling up from Ramsay’s memory was huge. The intensity of it crackled and snapped around her.
“Aside from Eryx, I’ve never brought anyone here, and even he has only been a time or two.” He pulled in a slow breath. “It was the only thing I had of my dad I didn’t have to share with anyone else.” His fingers tightened on her shoulders. “I wanted to share it with you.”
Honest to God, a battering ram couldn’t have impacted her senses more than his simple, heart-felt gift. She was dumbfounded. Too stunned and humbled to formulate even the basest response.
“Look at it, Trinity. That sunset is the same impression you made on me the first time I saw you. Powerful. Colorful. Bright and warm.” He slid his hands around her waist and wrapped her up tight, his mouth at her ear. “Every time I see or think of you, this is what fills me.”
She tried to turn, her body and senses clamoring for eye contact. To anchor herself in his steel-gray eyes.
He stopped her with a flex of his arms. “Not yet. I need you to watch it until it’s gone. To know that it’s the last sunset you’ll see without a mate. And know that the sunrise we watch tomorrow will be ours.”

Reading, or writing, romance has been her happy place since she cracked the
